About The Department

 

Introduction

The department of radiology and imaging was established in 2014. It is a young department currently with a faculty of two members. The imaging equipment is installed at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH), Kisumu. 

The department strives to prepare undergraduate medical students with the necessary knowledge and skills to routinely make appropriate radiological requests and correctly interpret basic radiological investigations. We have deliberately concentrated on common, important, clinical topics to address the above objectives.

Our desired learning outcomes are characterized by an understanding of the knowledge, insights, and attitudes, which are common to the doctor’s use of imaging services in their practice.

The department endeavors to partner with relevant stakeholders to intensify the research component of the training.
