The department teaches and examines two main undergraduate courses
- MCS 406 – Junior clerkship in Obstetrics & Gynaecology - Year 4
- MCS 603 – Senior clerkship in Obstetrics & Gynaecology – Year 6
Master of Medicine in Obstetrics & Gynaecology
The program is a full-time residency programme primarily located at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital, with additional teaching at Kisumu County Hospital, Kisumu and the medical school in Siriba Campus
Applicants must meet the following requirements:

Must have a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree or its equivalent from a recognised university.

Must have completed at least one year of clinical practice post internship;

Show evidence of registration, or eligibility to be licensed, by the Kenya Medical Practitioner’s and Dentists Council, (KMPDC), and be on the retention list as at time of application.

Provide a certificate of good conduct from the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council or any equivalent authority from the country of origin if from outside Kenya.

Show evidence of proficiency in use of English language.

Maintain a valid professional indemnity cover of not less than KES 1,000,000 over the period of clinical training.
